Taking care of your Black Skin in Winter

Winter is here – and that means sub-zero temperatures, too! Our team of experts in dark and olive skin have put together a few good habits to adopt during the cold weather season to keep your skin looking its best every day and avoid winter problems.

Moisturising is key : egardless of your skin type, you should use a product designed to hydrate your skin properly every day. If you have very dry skin, My Corrector Unifying Moisturising will deeply nourish and reconstruct your skin throughout the day. If you have combination to oily skin, My Corrector Unifying Matifying will help regulate excess sebum production in oily zones while correcting insufficient ceramides in the skin, which are needed to retain moisture and prevent skin from overcompensating for dryness with excessive sebum production.

For the body, you can use a rich cream to moisturise skin daily and a gentle exfoliant once a week, My Gel Cleanser Exfoliating.. Lastly, remember to drink a lot of water – 1.5L to 2L every day is ideal.

Cleanse your skin gently : in winter, skin not only has to deal with the cold air outside but heating in the car, at home and the office, etc. Remember to gently cleanse your skin every day, morning and night, and avoiding overly frequent contact with water (which can often be hard), which can dry out skin. Choose a soft texture for sensitive skin : My Cleansing Micellar Water, My Foam Purifying Cleansing or My Gel Cleanser Exfoliating

You should also take care of your lips :when it's cold out, the lips are one of the first areas to be damaged as they are get the most exposure. Avoid licking your lips when they are dry because saliva's acidity will alter their hydrolipidic film. Keep a nourishing lip balm with you to apply whenever needed.

ADVICE :

If you have combination skin that tends to be dry in winter and oily in summer, be sure to switch your daytime moisturiser to a more hydrating texture to keep skin from getting overly dry, such as My Corrector Unifying Moisturising.

TIP :

Don't forget to take care of your hands! They face difficult conditions in winter too, and are one of the first areas to be affected by cold. You can exfoliate them with My Gel Cleanser Exfoliating on damp skin to remove dead skin cells and leave your skin soft and smooth. Just apply hand cream and you'll be all set !
