Each of these women are entrepreneurs and have wanted to deliver a message and reveal their personality through it. And it's for their perseverance and their character that we love them!

Let's discover our top 6 personalities to follow in 2023 in the world of ethnic beauty!

Kelly (Les secrets de Loly)

Created in 2009 by the brilliant Kelly, Les Secrets de Loly began in her kitchen with love, passion and a desire to help people with textured hair.

Les Secrets de Loly quickly became a household name following the appearance of its ads on television and on the many advertising screens in the French capital.

The aim of the brand since its inception has been to offer natural products with delicious smells that are accessible to all. And the brand's slogan "My hair My power" is a key message for all women with textured hair.

Today, Kelly has succeeded in establishing her brand's products in numerous stores such as Monoprix or the Boutique du coiffeur for example.

Aïmara (Be Radiance)

Aimara BE RADIANCEProduits BE RADIANCE

How can we not mention Aïmara in this top 6 of influential women in the cosmetics industry!

Having grown up in Canada, this sublime makeup expert has worked for major cosmetic brands such as L'oréal, Sephora and even BlackUp.

Nicknamed "Madame Teint" in the industry, it is only logical that she then created her own makeup brand Be Radiance.

Noted for her wide range of foundations for all skin tones based on cucumber water, she did not hesitate to extend her product line and play with the principle of Healthy Skin Makeup: makeup for healthier skin with a good composition.

With an elegant packaging and a breathtaking composition, she managed to conquer the heart of our new Miss France 2023!

For all these reasons, it was obvious to choose this makeup partner brand in the first showroom of the IN'OYA brand in Dakar: OYA TIME CENTER!

For the occasion we also asked Aïmara to send a message to the women who will read this article:

"I have decided that I am going to get even more involved in making things happen!

We will look for and find concrete actions to accompany or implement against skin whitening, for education, for the expression and valorisation of all beauties...and so that one day our little girls will stop thinking that they have to be lighter to be beautiful!"

Laïla (IN'OYA & OYA Time Center)

It is only natural that on OYA MAG, in honour of International Women's Rights Day, we would highlight the co-founder of the IN'OYA brand: Laïla MKIMER.

In 2011, the audacious Laïla embarked on the adventure of ethnic cosmetics alongside the President and Founder of the brand, Abd Haq BENGELOUNE. With a doctorate in economics and management, she joined forces with Abd Haq, a biochemical engineer by training, with the aim of finding a solution to the problems of hyperpigmentation spots in black, dark and mixed-race skins; this is how they came to develop different ranges of specific anti-spot, anti-imperfection, regenerating repairing, suncare and cleansing products

At IN'OYA, the matte, black or mixed-race woman is now highlighted and in power! In fact, the essence of the brand is in its name: OYA is an African divinity, one of the most powerful goddesses, patron saint of female leadership and independence.

In 2021, Laïla became President of the OYA TIME CENTER, the first showroom dedicated to the well-being and beauty of black, dark and mixed-race skins, offering various services such as facials, body treatments, skin diagnosis with the OYA Skin Diag and OYA Skin 360 machines, make-up services and even workshops/master classes on various themes to enhance women's natural beauty every day!

This year, the brand is moving into Monoprix, so you can find the brand's products in shops near you. In the meantime, the products are available on the online shop, in pharmacies and parapharmacies, but also at Nocibe.fr!

Laïla ended with these words: "The women of the world will succeed in taking power by accepting their identity and claiming their origins. This requires the sublimation of their beauty and self-realization!

Diane (Nacre Box)

It's the first box designed for dark skins and textured hair with healthy and natural products. Each month, you will discover its universe in your mailbox as well as key products to "go from darkness to light" according to the brand's philosophy. She also shares on the brand's Instagram page tips and pretty realities to explain the benefits of the products in the monthly box.

We continue this top 6 with Julie, a makeup artist for many years who has used her creativity and passion to leave a mark in the makeup world.

She opened her company in 2013 called Djulicious cosmetics, a brand with colourful and pastel shades that totally expresses the personality of the founder and the women! From multi-coloured palettes to lipsticks, she has been able to meet everyone's needs. She shares her good tips to always have the best makeup!

For the occasion we also asked Julie to send a message to the women who will read this article:

"Nothing is easy, nothing is given but everything is possible! You have to keep dreaming bigger and bigger and keep feeding your inner flame. This flame that gives you the energy to achieve your dreams! "

Dieynaba (WAAM Cosmetics)

It was in Paris that the ambitious Dieynaba made a name for herself by opening Colorii, the reference shop dedicated to ethnic cosmetics.

In 2016, she launched her own brand WAAM Cosmetics.

It was when she became a mother that she imagined cosmetics with formulations that were simpler to compose oneself and adapted to all types of skin and hair. On the company's website, she offers a wide range of oils, powders and other active ingredients ready to be used for daily care, hair care and skincare.

She and her team then set up tips and short videos on WAAM's social networks to share with her followers skincare products for the various existing skin and hair problems. She gave a boost to the Do It Yourself principle, more commonly known as DIY.

For this occasion we asked Dieynaba to send a message to the women who will read this article:

"I would say to all women to always listen to your gut. If you have an idea or a desire to start a business, then put on your blinkers and go for it. In any case, there is always more to be gained by failing than by resting on unused potential.

Our motto at WAAM: It always seems impossible until it's done!

And as Napoleon Hills said: "the one who wins is the one who thinks he can".

As our ranking is already over, we invite you to follow the daily life of these women and their brands on social networks. And we would like to tell you, we believe in you in every project you want to undertake, so don't hesitate anymore! You are powerful dear OYA!
