DATE PALM

DATE PALM

Description

The Balanites Roxburghii or date palm, fights against desertification by allowing other plants to grow among its roots, thanks to the shade it receives. It is also a food plant. Its leaves are eaten as a vegetable and its fruits are appreciated by children. The extracted oil is very softening and nourishing.

Origin

The oil extracted from the fruit is anti-inflammatory, antiviral and antimicrobial. In cosmetics, it is a powerful emollient that softens and repairs dry and damaged skin. It intensely nourishes the skin as well as the dry hair. Its dryness and penetrating sensation also makes it ideal for the care of mixed and problem skins, because it softens and protects, without making the skin too oily.

Effect

The date palm is native to tropical Africa. It is present in the Great Green Wall of Africa.
